Biology Research at Phillips Academy

The Phillips Academy Biology Department has extensive opportunities for advanced students who wish to engage in laboratory and field research in various fields of biology.  In particular, there are several course offerings that are oriented to learning techniques in biochemistry, molecular and microbiology, and applying these techniques for independent research on a focused, original research project. These include Biology 600 (Molecular Biology Laboratory Research), Biology 610 (Molecular Biology Independent Research) and the Independent Research program. In addition, other courses offered by the Biology and Chemistry Departments provide an introduction to concepts and laboratory techniques that are useful for the successful completion of a research project.
