Before we learn about the marble bust, here is Leopold Bloom.  Joyce drew this caricature of the hero of Ulysses, in Myron C. Nutting's studio in Paris in the 1920s.  Above it, Joyce wrote in Greek the line with which Homer's Odyssey begins.
