Five Levels of meaning...

To summarize.  We imagine a field, and into that field we introduce one man.  At  first we give him less power of perception, of action, of conceptualization than we normally have.  Then we gradually increase his powers.  In this way we generate five distinct levels of human perception, of human awareness:

  • Ironic Level       =  when people are at their least perceptive, least able.
  • Realistic Level   = when people are normally alert, everyday life.
  • Heroic Level       = when people are at their very best: concentrated, focused adrenaline.
  • Romantic Level =  when what is perceived is shaped by personal psychology, personal dreams
  • Mythic Level    = what is perceived is essential archetypal psychology, universal wisdom.
