Currently there are no Newsgroups devoted to Joyce, but there are Listervers.  (If you've never subscribed to a list, you need to know that a Listerver is like a mirror: every message that hits it gets  reflected to everyone who is signed up. Subscribing to a List gives you a flow of messages reflected into your personal e-mail box to which you may reply as you please.

To subscribe now from your own computer, at its specific address, to the discussions that tend to center on Portrait, Dubliners and especially Ulysses send e-mail  to listproc@lists.utah.edu with the phrase "SUBSCRIBE j-joyce" in the body of the message, followed immediately by your name (not your e-mail address--that's automatically provided in the header of your message).  Example:

subscribe j-joyce bill smith

If you wish to unsubscribe, do the same thing with "UNSUBSCRIBE.". Or you may register at http://www.lists.utah.eduand then subscribe or unsubscribe  on their web page. Be careful, though, there seems to be no way to alter your address once you enter it, so be sure to register with whatever address you want etched in stone
